The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced today the launch of the agency’s newly redesigned external website, www.DEA.gov. The site’s new design increases transparency of the agency’s mission and goals while providing factual, up-to-date information to the public. The new and improved site’s functionality is more intuitive and logically designed to increase ease of use. The new site has improved navigation, making it easier for readers to find what they are looking for.
DEA.gov received nearly 8 million visitors in 2011. This is the first redesign of the site since it was originally launched in 2003.
Several of the improvements include a cleaner more organized look, drop-down menus that feature topics most often visited by users, and short cuts to popular links like the Media Center where site visitors can access videos, photos, and animated shorts. There is also a Resource Center that houses information most often researched. The added “bread crumbs” feature allows visitors to track and navigate the site much easier, creating a path that leads back to the original dropdown topic. The website now has a carousel rotating special features across the front page of the website.
