As of today restrictions on cigarette branding and new labeling requirements go into effect in the United States.
Restrictions include:
Cigarettes may no longer be branded as “light”, mild” or “low”
Cigarette packages will have larger and more detailed warning labels
Cigarette companies will be barred from sponsoring cultural and sporting events
According to federal law, sales of tobacco products are prohibited to anyone under 18
Restrictions on cigarette vending machines
