Member Activity

An initiative by member organisation Kalegium and WFAD, the project "Youth People Against Drugs - the Pinsk Model" is funded by Forum Syd and implemented in Belarus.
The project focuses on improving the system of gender specific primary prevention of addiction and non-medical drug consumption.

In collaboration with Women's Committee on Alcohol and Drugs (WOCAD) and WFAD, Kalegium hosted a seminar for specialists titled "Gender Aspects of Different forms of Risk Behaviour Prevention", involving a drama pedagogue in coordination with Brest Regional Educational Development Institute.

Britt Fredenman from WOCAD travelled to Belarus to carry out two capacity building workshops in Gender specific prevention. Over two days, 60 people attended the workshops, which also involved a visit to the University of Pinsk. Britt spoke about WOCAD and their BellaNet International, which works with an interactive method as a tool for effective prevention. The workshops were very successful and received great feedback.
